What Is Dental Insurance?
Dental insurance is a separate policy from your typical health insurance. Dental insurance provides coverage for routine and preventive oral health care services, fillings, and X-rays. Some plans may even offer coverage for crowns, extractions, and orthodontic services. Every plan is different, so be sure to work with your agent to understand what is and is not covered under your plan.
With dental insurance, you’ll have access to covered care through in-network providers. If you choose to see an out-of-network provider, you may not have any coverage at all through your dental insurance plan. Dental insurance may not fully cover all costs associated with treatment, even if it is in-network, but it can help keep your costs as low as possible.
Who Needs Dental Insurance?
